(June 20, 2024; NAPA, Calif.) – Gerret and Tatiana Copeland, owners of Bouchaine Vineyards in Napa’s Carneros AVA, are pleased to announce two new hires to lead the winery’s DTC and marketing team: Juli Barron, who is now Bouchaine’s Director of Direct-to-Consumer business, and Nick Woodhams, who is the winery’s Senior Wine Club and Marketing Manager.
Barron comes to Bouchaine after 10 years at Opus One as the winery’s direct marketing manager, bringing with her an extensive background in marketing, branding, and customer relations management for leading luxury wine brands. Her passion for wine came to fruition while studying in France during her undergraduate career at UC Santa Cruz, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Studies. Barron also holds an MBA from the Bayes Business School in London. Her path to the wine industry began at Bonny Doon Vineyard in Santa Cruz. However, the charm of Napa Valley ultimately beckoned her to relocate to Napa where she held DTC and marketing leadership positions at Domaine Chandon and Treasury Wine Estates before joining Opus One. At Bouchaine, she will work closely with President and Winemaker Chris Kajani to maintain and expand an outstanding customer experience at the winery, including DTC operations, hospitality, and wine club development.
“I marvel at my good fortune to have found a new home at Bouchaine, where I can closely collaborate with a dynamic female-led team, including our President/Winemaker Chris Kajani,” says Barron. “Together, we will channel my passion for wines to create brand consistency, elevate Bouchaine’s reputation for making outstanding wines, and offer truly exceptional online and in-person experiences. I am very keen on implementing strategic improvements to the winery’s direct-to-consumer business, shaping a future where excellence and creativity thrive at Bouchaine.”
Barron lives in Napa with her husband and son. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, bird watching, especially falcons, and embracing her inner Francophile with ample sparkling wine.
A Connecticut native, Woodhams’ career in the wine industry began at the Wine Spectator award-winning Bluefin Seafood Bistro in Tucson, Arizona. Inspired by the sommeliers there, Nick went on to earn his sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers and his Bachelor of Science in hospitality administration from Northern Arizona University. He has held positions at wineries throughout Napa, including Domaine Chandon, Silverado Vineyards, Palmaz Vineyards, and Markham Vineyards. As the Senior Wine Club and Marketing Manager at Bouchaine, Woodhams will also enhance brand communications. “I want to create unique and fun customer experiences,” says Woodhams, “and propel Bouchaine’s wine club and marketing efforts to new heights. Bouchaine’s commitment to sustainability, and, of course, crafting stunning wines will make my work very rewarding and enjoyable”.
When not at the winery, Woodhams enjoys spending time with his family and their two dogs, skiing, hiking, playing music and tending to his family’s cabin on Puget Sound.
“We are so excited to welcome Juli and Nick to the Bouchaine family,” says Kajani. “Both bring extensive experience in the wine industry, and both have an infectious passion for creating exceptional customer experiences. At Bouchaine, we believe that ‘Wine Makes You Happy,’ and we are so pleased to have Nick and Juli aboard to spread that message.”
About Bouchaine
Bouchaine was founded by Gerret and Tatiana Copeland and is today one of the leading producers of sustainably farmed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the Carneros AVA. The estate is comprised of 104 acres, including a dramatic tasting room designed in the form of a welcoming embrace, complete with a state-of-the-art open kitchen. The vineyards at Bouchaine are greatly influenced by the adjacent San Pablo Bay, where cool breezes and the daily influx of fog allow cool climate varieties to shine. The location’s substantial daily temperature shifts also help develop beautiful acidity in the fruit, resulting in wines with vivid energy and texture. Noted as the first “Fish Friendly Farming” certified vineyard in Napa Valley, the winery is also Napa Green land and winery certified. If one sentence can encapsulate the energy of Bouchaine, it is the winery’s new trademarked slogan, “Wine Makes you Happy™.”
