On May 29, Star Wine List celebrated the great wine lists in Asia at an awards ceremony at Vinexpo Asia in Hong Kong. Thailand won big with no less than five category awards.
May 30th – Haoma in Bangkok won the Grand Prix for the best wine list overall and two more categories. Fellow Bangkok entry Inddee won two categories. The other Gold Stars went to Shenzhen in China, Hong Kong, Osaka in Japan, Macau and Singapore.
“Asia is not a main wine producing continent, so we don’t have a limitation when we select wine for our wine list. It is definitely the most dynamic continent with diversity. We can never get bored when we judge the wine lists. And it is always hard for us to discuss who is the best as everyone is doing a perfect job. Well done Asia, thank you for submitting your list, and keep up the great work!” said Jury member Reeze Choi from Hong Kong.
Star Wine List of the Year is the celebration of the great wine lists in the world and the teams behind them. The prize was awarded in ten categories, and the winners in each category got a Gold Star and also qualified for the international final (to be held in June 2024). The event was held at Vinexpo Asia in Hong Kong.
