The PlumpJack Collection of Wineries Announces New Adaptation Experience

Celebrated Napa Valley portfolio debuts a more accessible walk-in wine tasting and pairing experience in Stag’s Leap District

NAPA, Calif. (May 15, 2024) – The PlumpJack Collection of Wineries, a focused portfolio of world-class Napa Valley-based estate labels, is thrilled to announce the new Adaptation Experience. The Adaptation label serves as an accessible entry point to the Odette Estate Winery portfolio and the broader PlumpJack Collection of Wineries. Adaptation’s new tasting space – open to walk-ins or by appointment – is designed to appeal to those seeking a more casual Napa Valley experience. Located within a dedicated space at Odette Estate, the experience invites guests to taste the mouthwatering versatility of Adaptation wines while taking in the vineyard views of Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District.

The Adaptation label has been a staple of the PlumpJack Collection portfolio since its establishment over a decade ago. It recently found a whole new audience when wine demand increased significantly. Though the name was chosen prior to 2020, Adaptation’s ethos felt especially poignant as wine lovers gravitated towards it while learning to adapt in ways they had not thought possible.

“Our goal from the start with the Adaptation label was to create an experience, whether at home or at one of our wineries, that is both dynamic and approachable,” said John Conover, Managing Partner of the PlumpJack Collection of Wineries. “Napa Valley—and the wine industry in general—is constantly changing and developing, and we are proud to offer visitors an experience to discover the diversity and range of the valley’s terroir while enjoying unparalleled hospitality; all without breaking the bank.”

The Adaptation Experience, priced at $60 per person, is now available and currently features a tasting of four wines, including two vintages of the Adaptation Cabernet Sauvignon, the Adaptation Petite Sirah, and the Odette Reserve Chardonnay. Each wine is served alongside perfectly paired chips from gourmet potato chip company Wine Chips, including flavors like Smoked Gouda, Spicy Calabrese, Dry Aged Ribeye, and Billionaire’s Bacon. Additionally, bottle service is available for those who may not want to sit down for a full tasting.

In July 2023, Andrew Haugen was appointed head winemaker for Odette Estate and Adaptation. After gaining experience at wineries across the globe, including Stonestreet in Sonoma County, Church Road Winery in New Zealand, Howard Park in Australia, and Gran Moraine in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Haugen joined Odette Estate in 2015 and worked his way up from cellar master to enologist to assistant winemaker and now head winemaker.

Located at 5998 Silverado Trail in Napa, Odette Estate’s Adaptation experience is held in the front tasting room. The tasting room is open seven days a week for walk-ins and appointments from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Odette Estate Winery can be reached by calling (707) 224-7533, emailing tastingroom@odetteestate.com, or visiting www.odetteestate.com.

About Adaptation and Odette Estate Winery

Odette Estate Winery, nestled in the heart of the Stags Leap District in Napa Valley, is dedicated to producing limited-production, terroir-driven wines. Named after three historical female figures, Odette captures the essence of Stags Leap District, symbolizing femininity, strength, and power. The winery’s commitment to responsible stewardship of the land has earned it widespread acclaim and recognition within the industry, from its surrounding 36-acre organically farmed CCOF certified Estate Vineyard to its 5,000-square-foot LEED Gold Certified winery. In 2021, the Estate launched the new Adaptation label, an accessible entry point to the Odette portfolio and the broader PlumpJack Collection of Wineries. In August 2022, the PlumpJack Collection announced the acquisition of Oso Vineyard, a sprawling, high-elevation site in northeastern Napa Valley. Roughly a third of the 129-acre vineyard’s grapes have been featured in the Adaptation label in recent years, and the Oso acquisition furthers the label’s ability to grow.
