Codevilla (Pavia) May 14th 2024 –A landmark born from the desire to provide customers, wine enthusiasts, and tourists with a place to taste La Genisia wines paired with authentic flavors of Oltrepò Pavese and activities dedicated to exploring the region. The new space “La Genisia” promoted by Cantina Torrevilla opens in Codevilla (Pavia), aiming to create an environment entirely dedicated to discovering the excellent wines of the La Genisia winery.

Guided tastings, cellar tours, experiences in nature: these are some of the activities the space will offer. A versatile area that will serve as a tasting room and meeting room, equipped with Wi-Fi, audio system, a large screen with projector, and all the ideal tools for event organization. Outside, there will be ample space to admire the picturesque Oltrepò sunsets, with panoramic views of the Po’ Valley, hills covered with vineyards, and the Alpine arc up to Monte Rosa.
La Genisia offers a complete wine experience, thanks to partnerships with professionals and local entities, offering e-bike and walking tours through the vineyards, horseback rides, guided by local guides ready to showcase the natural and cultural beauties of the area.
Among La Genisia production most relevant wines there is the iconic Pinot Nero dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC , obtained from 100% Pinot Noir grapes vinified in red, selected in the vineyard then hand-harvested to preserve their quality. Also there is the Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico DOCG Pinot Nero Brut, obtained from vineyards covering an area of approximately 20 hectares in the valleys around the municipality of Codevilla; territories that present heterogeneous altimetric characteristics, different exposures, and very diversified soils. It is precisely this multiplicity of terroirs that allows a selection of the grapes to be made right from the start of the processing and, above all, allows the grapes to express themselves in every facet.
“I tried to capture the sensations and pleasure that a glass of Pinot Noir shared with friends conveyed to me,” recounts Gian Franco Dazzan, the architect behind the project, “and to transfer them into an environment that could reflect the lightness of countless bubbles chasing each other in a transparency of light condensed between gold and silver… And to think that the time spent with that fragrant and generous glass within those walls should never pass…”

La Genisia is a young and determined social reality that now involves twenty experienced winemakers, totaling 70 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Codevilla (PV) and its surroundings. Lombard hills provide the backdrop to this project, united by a precise philosophy aimed at fostering constant dialogue between the winery and winemakers to achieve excellence in quality standards. A growing journey that entails a full understanding of the territory and the work of interpreting terroir. Recognizable wines, characterized by a fine and persistent perlage that elegantly interprets Pinot Noir grapes, the flagship of the vines cultivated and processed by the winemakers collaborating with this winery.
