Paso Robles winery and vineyard will continue its legacy for generations

This strategic move marks a significant milestone in CWC’s commitment to legendary vineyards within the Paso Robles AVA, furthering its vision of building its brands on the rich tradition and history of Paso Robles. CWC currently stewards the Continental Vineyard, established in 1973, and recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of this fabled 2500 acre estate.
Founded in 1981 by Kenneth Volk on 44 acres in the Templeton Gap District, Wild Horse Winery & Vineyard stands as one of the original eight bonded wineries in Paso Robles. Founder and celebrated winemaker Kenneth Volk shared, “This facility served as an incubator for some of the most successful winemakers in Paso Robles, California, and beyond.” The acquisition of Wild Horse Winery & Vineyard represents a union of two pioneering brands, with both Continental Vineyard and Wild Horse sharing a longstanding commitment to innovation, quality, and a deep appreciation for the unique terroir of the region. The terms of the acquisition encompass the entirety of the Wild Horse Winery property, including its vineyard, production facility, and the iconic historical tasting room in Templeton. E. & J. Gallo Winery retains ownership of the Wild Horse brand.
