Cuvaison Unveils Made-to-Order Tasting Kits Featuring Its Acclaimed Small Lot and Micro Lot Wines

NAPA VALLEY, LOS CARNEROS, Calif. – February 27, 2024 – Cuvaison winery (www.Cuvaison.com) is excited to announce the unveiling of its new Tasting Kits. Each Cuvaison Tasting Kit is made fresh to order from finished bottles of wine and features a customizable selection of three wines from Cuvaison’s Small Lot and Micro Lot tiers in 100 mL sample bottles with screw cap closures. The sets are attractively packaged in elegant three-sample bottle Cuvaison gift boxes and include QR codes with additional information about each wine. Created to provide Cuvaison’s customers with an ideal way to hold intimate at-home tastings, the Tasting Kits allow consumers to explore Cuvaison’s acclaimed estate-grown wines from the historic Tai Vineyard in the Los Carneros appellation of Napa Valley.

Cuvaison debuted the Tasting Kits as a gift option for the 2023 holidays and was thrilled by the response. “We are always looking for exciting new ways to engage our customers, especially those who can’t regularly make it to our Tasting Salon in Los Carneros,” said President and CEO Daniel Zepponi. “One of the joys of a great tasting room experience is being able to explore different wines to find the ones you really love. Our tasting kits allow wine enthusiasts to have that same kind of tasting experience at home. The early response has been fantastic and we are excited to expand the program with the addition of new wines throughout 2024.”

The Tasting Kits are made to order using the new Coravin Vinitas™ device, which Cuvaison helped to beta test in 2021 and 2022. This proprietary system can transfer any wine directly from a finished bottle into smaller tasting bottles without exposure to air. Designed using Enoloq™ technology and made of recycled materials, the small sample bottles preserve the wines, making them ideal for wineries wishing to provide their customers with single-serve formats.

Described by Zepponi as “big-time wines in distinctive little containers,” Cuvaison currently offers a selection of three wines from its acclaimed Small Lot and Micro Lot tiers for purchase in the Tasting Kits. Because of the extremely limited nature of these wines, they are otherwise only available directly through the winery. The current offerings include the 2022 Méthode Béton Sauvignon Blanc, 2021 Coeurtina Chardonnay and 2021 Spire Pinot Noir. Once the three wines have been selected, each tube is hand-filled to order, providing roughly half a glass (3.4 ounces/100 mL) per tube. The debut Small Lot Tasting Kits are available for $50 and include shipping. Due to their small size, they may also be carried on airplanes.

Beginning in March, Cuvaison will expand its Tasting Kit program with a Spring Micro Lot Pinot Preview Tasting Kit featuring the coveted 2022 Gap’s Crown, Fiddlestix and 90.1 Pinot Noirs. This special kit will provide customers with the opportunity to taste these eagerly anticipated, limited-production wines before their official summer release, when they will quickly sell out. In June, the winery will begin offering customizable, made-to-order kits featuring all current Small Lot and Micro Lot wines in either three- or four-tube kits. In advance of the 2024 holidays, Cuvaison will also unveil a Legacy Kit in October featuring the winery’s coveted ATS Chardonnay and Adda Pinot Noir, as well as the renowned ThS Cabernet Sauvignon from Cuvaison’s sister winery, Brandlin Estate.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this program,” added Zepponi. “What really sets our Tasting Kits apart is the phenomenal quality of the wines and the care and customization that goes into each set. By filling the 100ml sample bottles to order directly from finished bottles of wine using the Coravin Vinitas™ device, we are avoiding the pitfalls of mini bottles that are mass-produced months ahead of time, which compromises quality. Plus, our customers can choose the wines they are most excited to taste, and then sample them at a fraction of the price. Essentially, we are providing our customers the opportunity to bring our Tasting Salon experience into their homes. Other than coming for a visit, it’s the best way to try before you buy.”
