Family Winemakers of California Announces New Board of Directors to Address Today’s Challenges for 2024/2025 Term

(Windsor, CA – Monday, February 12) – Family Winemakers of California (FWC), the pioneering organization founded in 1990 to unite family-owned and operated wineries, is proud to announce the appointment of its new Board of Directors. Committed to navigating the contemporary challenges facing the wine industry, the board members will collaborate in advocating for the interests of FWC members with local, state, and federal government bodies, consumers, and within the broader wine industry.

“The need for a leading voice for the many wineries who are family-owned and operated is stronger than ever,” said Pete Downs, President of FWC. “California wineries face several challenges right now, and we take our responsibilities seriously. I’m happy to welcome the new members of the Board, and look forward to great days ahead.”

The newly appointed Board of Directors comprises seasoned professionals and industry leaders dedicated to advancing the mission of FWC. Their diverse expertise spans areas such as viticulture, winemaking, business, marketing and advocacy.

Leadership Team

  • Chairperson: GinaLisa Tamayo
  • Affiliation: Jackson Family Wines

In her role at Jackson Family Wines, GinaLisa specializes in maintaining relationships with government and regulatory officials, implementing programs for regulatory compliance, and tracking legislative matters at all levels. Her expertise extends to creating and implementing communication plans for corporations, non-profit organizations, and political campaigns. 

  • Managing Vice Chairperson: Bruce Lundquist
  • Affiliation: Rack & Riddle, Co-Founder and Co-CEO

With over 26 years of experience in natural resource and agricultural-based industries, Bruce is deeply involved in legislative, regulatory, and water issues affecting the California wine industry. 

  • Treasurer & Secretary: Jon Phillips
  • Affiliation: Inspiration Vineyards and Custom Crush, Owner/Founder

Jon, founder, winemaker, and owner of Inspiration Vineyards & Winery, brings extensive experience in farming, winemaking, and small business management. His responsibilities span farming, operation of a Custom Crush facility, tasting room management, wine production, sales, and marketing.

The FWC Board of Directors is committed to intensifying its advocacy efforts on behalf of its members. By engaging with local, state, and federal authorities, the board aims to address regulatory challenges, promote fair legislation, and champion the interests of family-owned wineries. Additionally, the board will work collaboratively with Regional Directors and the wine industry to foster a supportive environment for innovation and excellence.
