Following 2023 rich in very positive national and international feedback for our winery’s Doc/Docg Valpolicella wines, Tedeschi has started off 2024 by relaunching quality and announcing its new project.
Verona, January 17 2024 – Having closed 2023 with great satisfaction given the success of the year, Tedeschi is starting the new year with certainty and novelty.
The certainty is the commitment to continue to work on quality by increasing our understanding and skillset that will allow the Tedeschi family vineyards and their grapes to express fully their organoleptic and sensory potentials.
This year’s novelty is related to the Tedeschi wine archive, which is a library of labels catalogued by vintage and cru that offers our Italian and foreign collectors, in search of older vintages of our great wines, a new and deeper perceptual experience of a variety of Tedeschi Amarone and Valpolicella wines.
The recognitions received in 2023 in Italy and abroad along with the extremely high points awarded by the most renown international guides only serve to confirm that quality and Tedeschi wines’ unmistakable style go hand in hand. “The appreciation of our wines has been confirmed again this year, – underscores Sabrina Tedeschi – we have once again been selected by Wine Spectator to be part of OperaWine, which takes place on the eve of Vinitaly. This exclusive event in which only 130 Italian wineries were selected to participate is dedicated to specialized winemakers.
In the year that has just ended, all 12 brand labels have been awarded points higher than 90/100. The top ranking of 97/100 was awarded by MW Sarah Heller, reviewer for Club Oenologique, to the Capitel Monte Olmi Amarone della Valpolicella Docg Classico Riserva 2017, and 97/100 along with the Platinum medal was also awarded to the 2023 al Marne 180 Amarone della Valpolicella Docg 2019 by Decanter World Wine Awards. In Italy, eight of the principle national guides have given awards to one or more of our wines, and the Corriere della Sera selected Tedeschi as being among the best winemakers of 2024.
The winery has closed 2023 with other prestigious recognitions. Vinum awarded 18/20 to the Capitel Monte Olmi Amarone della Valpolicella Docg Classico Riserva 2015. The Tedeschi Amarone wines also stood out in the prestigious Trofeo dell’Amarone e del Recioto organized by Falstaff magazine. In the Amarone Riserva category, the Fabriseria Amarone della Valpolicella Docg Classico Riserva 2016 obtained second place with 96/100 points. The same score was awarded to the Capitel Monte Olmi Amarone della Valpolicella Docg Classico Riserva 2017, which was ranked in fourth place. Tedeschi wines were also reviewed in the Falstaff Weinguide 2024, and were awarded 5 stars, the maximum number of stars, for the overall quality of all wines tasted.
“At a time when consumers are becoming more mindful when making their selections, the recognition of our ongoing work to improve each and every one of our wines goes beyond a sense of simple satisfaction and provides us with the go ahead to look at the markets with confidence,” states Antonietta Tedeschi, commenting on the winery’s recent results.
