(January 9, 2024; Oakville, CA)—Baker & Hamilton, an esteemed Napa Valley producer of limited production Cabernet Sauvignon from the Phillips family’s historic estate in Oakville, is pleased to announce its expansion into Texas, with Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), and Michigan, with Midwest Wine Exchange (MWE). Concurrently, the winery has entered into a new distribution partnership in California with the prestigious Estate Wines, Ltd.

Having established a legacy of excellence in California, Baker & Hamilton’s expansion into Texas and Michigan marks a significant step in broadening its national presence. Introduced in 2022, and available exclusively at fine restaurants and retailers, the winery’s connection to retail is deeply rooted in the Phillips family’s 170-year history in agriculture. The wine pays homage to Bruce Phillips’ great-great-grandfather, R.M. Hamilton, co-founder of Baker & Hamilton, which at one time was California’s largest manufacturer and retailer of agriculture hardware and tools. Today, the family continues this tradition, farming their Oakville vineyard with variations of those same tools.

“Baker & Hamilton’s journey reflects our deep-rooted commitment to quality and our family’s long-standing relationship with the retail sector,” said Bruce Phillips, third-generation grape grower. “Our expansion into Texas and Michigan, and partnership with Estate Wines, Ltd. in California, are pivotal in ensuring that the wines are featured exclusively in environments that align with our ethos and heritage.”

In partnership with MWE, Baker & Hamilton joins an elite group of likeminded producers focused on small-production luxury wines that follow a strong commitment to the land from which they were made. Entering into the Texas market with RNDC, the winery will be supported by the country’s second largest wine and spirits distributor backed by an extensive history and a dedication to elevating premium wines both on-premise and-off premise in 39 states.

In California, Baker & Hamilton’s collaboration with Estate Wines, Ltd., known for its dedication to artisan wineries and estate-grown wines, represents a synergistic partnership. Estate Wines, Ltd., under the guidance of Rand Yazzolino, has been a forerunner in championing wines that embody a sense of place, soil, and history since 1985. To date, Baker & Hamilton may be found at some of the most celebrated restaurants such as Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry and Bouchon Bistro in Napa Valley, Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur and an array of high-end retailers throughout the state.
