ABOUT MARTY O’REILLY
Explaining Marty O’Reilly’s music is like describing a dream. It feels familiar, but at the same time unchartered. His songs sound bluesy but not blues, folk but not folk, soulful but not soul. Marty’s voice is beautiful and unique, his lyrics stark yet lush over gritty electrified guitar, melding beautifully into genre-defying music within the vast definitions of Americana. One can hear an urgency and complexity in the songs, expressing something elemental and perhaps contradictory: love and anger, joy and pain, real and imagined.
“I started playing music as medicine for myself to feel good and digest some melancholy,” Marty leaves off. “Over time, I realized if music makes me feel good, the people around me who become a part of it will feel good too. It connects us on the same wavelength. I hope to give the world something real and refreshing.
ABOUT LITTLE WORTH
Little Worth was born of a chance introduction between the two songwriters. As Austin grabbed a guitar off Tanner’s wall during a doggy playdate in El Verano, the two instantly realized just how remarkably similar their tastes and skills aligned. Then came a pandemic, and the two used the otherwise unfortunate quarantine to hunker down together in Tanner’s garage to write roughly two dozen songs over the course of several months.
Austin and Tanner would soon be joined by longtime friend, collaborator and multi-instrumentalist Brad Maestas. Crafting the finishing touches on a collection of songs that reflected the rural Sonoma countryside, the three would be joined by local prolific musicians Ben Tinsley, Jesse Adams, and Josh Yenne. “They say write what you know and this is true to the songs we’ve crafted,” Ferreira says. “They may not be diary entries per say, but the material is wholeheartedly inspired by the experiences and love of growing up in California.”
