December 6, 2023, SONOMA, CA – Sam Coturri, proprietor of Winery Sixteen 600 has introduced the Vintage From The Vault wine club. The subscription-based quarterly shipment combines wine from the Coturri family’s cellar stock accompanied by an LP specially selected by the staff at the Winery Sixteen 600 Tasting House in downtown Sonoma.
“Music of all types has inspired our winery from the beginning” says Coturri. “We have two stereo systems and about 1000 vinyl albums in the Tasting House for visitors to listen to, and the wine just tastes better when heard from records instead of digital downloads or satellite radio. When we make wine, a vineyard’s energy, essence, and overall attitude is captured in the bottle, enabling us to transport, translate and celebrate those grapes, hemispheres away from Sonoma and potentially decades past when we bottled it. And just as a bottle of wine is surely a liquid manifestation of a particular time in a vineyard, so too can an LP be the physical manifestation of a moment of time in music. With that in mind, Vintage From The Vault gives us a way to combine our experiences with our passions and share them with club members.”
Limited to only 200 members, the inaugural shipment of Vintage From The Vault will include three bottles of Sixteen 600 wine on a quarterly basis to its members. These are special wines from the winery’s past; the first shipment includes the 2018 Simons Vineyard Marsanne, the 2017 Mountains of Sonoma Syrah, and the 2014 Simons Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. All wines come from vineyards farmed by legendary Sonoma and Napa Valley organic viticulturalist and Sixteen 600 Frounder/Owner Phil Coturri.
Included in the shipment is a limited-edition picture disc version of Modest Mouse’s 1997 classic two-disc album “Lonesome Crowded West” along with an exclusive print from the band’s LCW anniversary tour, signed by artist James Joiner. Shipping is included in the $300/quarter price, along with complimentary wine tastings for two at the Tasting House, access to the legendary Sixteen 600 Vinyl Sunday events, and more.
