NAPA, CALIF. (December 6, 2023): Maison Fayard, the first winemaker-owned bottle shop offering wine enthusiasts a destination to visit, taste, and shop the portfolio of brands made by renowned Napa Valley winemaker Julien Fayard, is now open in the heart of downtown Napa at 1408 Second Street, Napa, Calif. Maison Fayard is at once a bottle shop, glassware boutique, local artist showroom, and educational tasting space curated by Fayard for the exploration and appreciation of wine, and all the facets of life it touches.

“Growing up in the wine business in France, and having spent nearly 20 years immersed in winemaking in Napa Valley, I have witnessed firsthand that wine is a cultural experience to be shared and cherished,” said Fayard, proprietor of Maison Fayard and Fayard Winemaking. “Maison Fayard is a haven where wine enthusiasts can indulge in a world of sophistication, artistry, and exceptional wines.”

The bottle shop is stocked with two dozen boutique wine brands made by Fayard from the Sonoma Coast to the Sierra Foothills, offering a diverse selection of California regions, varietals, vintages, and price points that cater to every palate from wine novices to aficionados and collectors. Brands include nationally recognized labels such as Beau Vigne, Le Pich and Purlieu, and Danica Patrick’s Somnium to small, family-owned estates such as Brandon Gregory, Covert, Firetree Family Vineyards, Lorenzi, Taplin Cellars, and Skinner Vineyards

“Every wine tells a captivating story of a time and terroir, family, and craftsmanship,” said Fayard. “I’m excited to provide a place where many of these brands, that have traditionally been available to consumers exclusively via mailing list, can finally be discovered by the many visitors walking the streets of downtown Napa.”

Beyond the bottle selections for purchase, Maison Fayard welcomes guests for private tasting experiences by appointment, and hosts wine events and masterclasses, in addition to showcasing a variety of fine glassware and wine accessories from Zalto, Glasvin, and Éditions Jean Lenoir, as well as artwork by local Napa Valley artists whom Fayard admires, including a collection of paintings by Laurie Shelton of CAMi Vineyards

Born and raised in Provence, France, Fayard is considered to be one of Napa Valley’s most respected winemakers, producing California varietals with French finesse. In addition to his own namesake labels, Julien Fayard Wines and Les Vins Julien, he is the co-proprietor and winemaker for Covert Estate, and is at the helm of his own consulting business, Fayard Winemaking, which directs the winemaking and often business development for more than two dozen brands, mostly from the Napa Valley, but also the Sierra Foothills, Temecula, and Provence.

Like Fayard’s other endeavors, Maison Fayard is a proud member of the 1% for the Planet pledge. Fayard’s commitment to sustainability and responsible stewardship for the environment is reflected in every aspect of Maison Fayard, from the vineyard and winery practices behind each wine to the packaging.

Maison Fayard is open daily between 10:00AM to 6:00PM for shopping, and private tasting experiences are available by appointment. Reservations can be made at https://www.exploretock.com/maisonfayard.
