X Marks the Spot with New Shipwreck Rum Package Refresh

Glen Rock, NJ, 08.15.2023: Opici Wines & Spirits is pleased to unveil Shipwreck Rum’s new packaging, providing a refreshing upgrade highlighting the quality ingredients and bootlegging spirit of the Brinley family.

The eye-catching new label highlights the all-natural flavors like Madagascar vanilla beans and Brazilian mangos, to emphasize the pure and fresh flavors consumers can expect from Shipwreck rums. A nautically-decorated neck sleeve calls back to the inspiration for the brand name. As fans of Shipwreck Rum know, production is helmed by the father and son team of Bob & Zach Brinley, whose photos have been added to the back label to add a sense of family.

“We’re very proud to see these exciting label and packaging upgrades come to fruition,” said Zach Brinley, Chief Bootlegger at Shipwreck Rum. “Our current label has been on shelves for over a decade, so we figured it was a good time to roll out a new look. These are simple and well-crafted upgrades, and we know our fans and customers will be pleased to see the changes.”

As an added bonus, customers will receive a necker on each bottle containing four delicious cocktail recipes, and a QR code leading back to the brand’s website for additional inspiration.

“The updated Shipwreck packaging truly emphasizes the core values of the brand – high quality and family – which are also at the heart of our company,” said Don Opici, Managing Director of Opici Wines & Spirits. “We look forward to continuing the growth Shipwreck rums have experienced throughout our close partnership with the Brinley family.”

Shipwreck Rum was founded on the island of St. Kitts in 2002 with their Vanilla Rum, since expanding to include eight different rums like coconut, coconut cream and spiced, among other flavors. St. Kitts has always been an essential part of the brand’s identity which made their partnership with the St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network a seamless one. Shipwreck has also expanded their environmental outreach into the U.S by partnering with non-profits to promote beach clean-up efforts on our shores.

The package refresh will roll out beginning September 2023 and be supported by a suite of updated POS, a robust out-of-home advertising campaign, in-store sampling, and social media outreach.
