Ventisquero Wine Estates Ranks in Top 5 Chilean Luxury Brands

New York, NY, July 27, 2023 – Ventisquero Wine Estates (VWE) placed within the top five Chilean luxury wine brands in the United States, according to data collected by Chilean Customs during their annual end-of-year report. VWE ranked fifth among Chilean wineries, after Concha y Toro, Chadwick, Vik, and Montes wine brands.

Ventisquero Wine Estates grew 787 percent in export sales over $130 FOB per case in the U.S. this past year. The company currently sells 1,200 cases at this price range in the U.S. and is rapidly positioning itself in the premium wine category, which accounts for bottles priced $35 and up. A few examples of these premium wines are EnclavePangea, and Obliqua, wines from the Apalta Valley resulting from a Joint Venture between VWE Head Winemaker Felipe Tosso, and respected Australian winemaker John Duval (formerly Chief Winemaker at Penfolds).

“This growth results from a distribution strategy with our partners, the company vision, and the team’s commitment to represent Chilean wines with passion,” says Horacio Fuentes, U.S. Director of VWE. “Our three-year plan is to keep climbing with our luxury portfolio to the top three leaders in this category. That comes with a long-term execution strategy based on innovation and investment to expand the distributor footprint,” Fuentes explained.

“After the pandemic, the U.S. market made a quick recovery. And the top traditional wine regions in the world aggressively regained their leadership,” noted Fuentes. “However, Chile has observed an opportunity in consumer demand. There’s a tremendous curiosity to know more about our fine wines, to explore our culture, and to seize the opportunity of the great value in these wines.”

Fuentes concluded his observations with, “Consistency is key! We’re lucky to have Wines of Chile, a private organization of Chilean wine producers dedicated to promoting the quality and image of Chilean wines, aligning key strategic direction. It drives a common vision and the premiumization message for Chile.”
