July 12th – California, USA— Hospice du Rhône ® (HdR), an international Rhône variety wine organization based in San Luis Obispo, California will be holding their flagship biennial event in Walla Walla, Washington on April 25 – 27, 2024.
Currently in development, Hospice du Rhône Walla Walla will be a multi-venue event taking place in the Walla Walla Valley. The event will consist of aspects Hospice du Rhône is known for including educational seminars, grand tastings, food and wine experiences, and above all – their motto of serious fun. The organization is excited to share that event programming will include Rhône ‘n Bowl, after over a decade of being unable to host it.
Hospice du Rhône believes the Walla Walla Valley is a region on the forefront of producing Rhône variety wines and has featured winemakers and their wines in multiple seminars, master classes, tastings and winemaker dinners spanning years of event history. In holding an event in Walla Walla, Hospice du Rhône plans to continue to support the region while expanding the reach of their organization and broadening awareness of Rhône variety producers.
After holding their large biennial event in Paso Robles, California for over twenty years, Hospice du Rhône is excited to allow the opportunity for another Rhône producing region to host. This, along with the prospect that it may be some Rhône-lovers first visit to Walla Walla, has the organization looking forward to sharing the experience of visiting the growing region together to share knowledge, community, and the pleasure of Rhône variety wines from around the world.
“Hospice du Rhône has been credited as a launchpad for many Rhône growing areas in the world and we look forward to furthering our mission in this world-class region.”
Vicki Carroll, President, Hospice du Rhône
“Thirty years ago, we envisioned taking HdR on the road. With the exuberance, talent, and commitment to Rhone varieties emerging in Walla Walla the invitation to celebrate the wines we love with kindred spirits feels like a fantastic destination.”
