Napa, CA, July 12, 2023–Artesa Winery is pleased to announce the appointment of Paula Borgo as new Director of Winemaking. With an impressive tenure of over 15 years in the wine industry, Paula brings a wealth of experience to her role, having crafted exceptional Argentinean wines for the renowned Raventós Codorníu winery, Bodega Septima (Mendoza, Argentina).

Prior to joining Artesa, Paula Borgo held the position of head winemaker at Bodega Septima, where she played a vital role in crafting wines that received widespread critical acclaim and international recognition. Her journey in winemaking began in her early years, growing up in a family deeply rooted in the wine industry. This upbringing instilled in her a profound appreciation for the land and the meticulous process of transforming grapes into wines of exceptional quality.
Paula Borgo’s appointment by Diego Pinilla, Chief Winemaking of the Raventós Codorníu Group, comes as a testament to his unwavering trust in her exceptional skills and expertise. In her new role, Paula Borgo will build upon Artesa Winery’s legacy of producing premium wines that showcase the unique terroir of Napa Valley. Her leadership and expertise will enable the winery to continue its tradition of crafting outstanding wines that capture the essence of the region.

The appointment of Paula Borgo comes after the departure of Ana Diogo-Draper, the former Director of Winemaking, who accomplished a series of notable milestones during her tenure. Diogo-Draper has departed to embark on an exciting personal winemaking venture and will be focusing on growing her own personal wine label, Ana Diogo-Draper. Alongside this exciting venture, she will also dedicate time to her wine consulting business and will accompany Paula in the transition to Artesa Winery.
