Travel to the heart of the Côte des Blancs with the new 2009 vintage of prestige cuvée

June 27th – The prestige cuvée Louis Salmon is named after the very first chief winemaker of the family house. Sourced from 100% Chardonnay Grands Crus of the best plots from the Côte des Blancs terroir (Cramant, Chouilly and Mesnil-sur-Oger), this mono-cru of great mineral purity showcases the  inimitable savoir-faire of the House in Blanc de Blancs Champagnes.

Chalk, the keystone of this renowned terroir, provides the wine with a unique typicity and  highlights the refined elegance of a mineral-driven Chardonnay. With its sparkling effervescence and crystalline hues, the very first expression is marked by delicate hints of citrus flesh and pulp.  A creamy, tactile sensation fills the palate with notes of marzipan, puff pastry brioche and white  pepper. This powerful and sophisticated wine ends on lingering aromas of cardamom, fresh  mango and caviar lemon. Louis Salmon 2009 has an undeniable floral charm worthy of the finest food pairings: a lobster risotto or Teriyaki-style king scallops a la plancha.

Available from independent wine merchants.

SRP: $220
