Sebastopol, CA, May 21, 2023 – Dutton Estate Winery is thrilled to announce “Joe Dutton’s Vineyard Walk & BBQ,” a behind-the-scenes look at Dutton Ranch and a unique opportunity to meet Joe Dutton, co-owner. The event will take place on Saturday, June 17, from 11am-3pm.
Participants will meet Joe Dutton at Dutton Ranch, where he will lead a small group on a one-hour walk through Shop Block, the original vineyard that his father Warren planted in 1967. This exclusive experience offers wine enthusiasts the opportunity to learn about the history and unique characteristics of this vineyard at Dutton Ranch directly from the owner himself.
As a farming family in Sonoma County for six generations, the Duttons have been pioneers in the wine industry. In 1964, five years before Joe was born, his father Warren purchased a parcel of property near the town of Graton in the heart of today’s Green Valley AVA. He planted it to Chardonnay, later naming it Shop Block, and Dutton Ranch was founded. Today, Dutton Ranch has grown to 1200 acres of sustainably certified vineyards and 200 acres of CCOF apple orchards. Joe and his wife Tracy founded Dutton Estate Winery in 1995 to craft wine from this land and create a lasting business for them and their children.
The walk will be followed by a Father’s Day-themed BBQ at Dutton Estate Winery’s vineyard garden, where participants will enjoy a full selection of wine and delicious food. Chardonnay crafted from the Shop Block, the vineyard walked during this event by guest, will be a featured event wine.
