Sonoma County is welcoming the start of another fruitful growing season this spring, as bud break signals the end of vineyard winter dormancy and the beginning of the grape-to-glass journey. Sonoma County wineries will celebrate Wine Month with an array of creative, innovative and diverse offerings. Find your perfect match of experiences and promotions on the dedicated Sonoma County Wine Month listing.

Enjoy wine and food pairings while taking in sweeping views of the vineyards and mountains. Learn about wine directly from winemakers in exclusive private tastings or wine blending sessions. Bring your friends and challenge them to a game of croquet, bocce or cornhole or simply relax while sipping your new favorite wine and listening to live music. Focus on wellness, sustainability or culture during vineyard hikes, yoga sessions, art tours or concerts, all with the perfect wine tastings to complement the activity.

“We are looking forward to spring here in our Sonoma County vineyards and it will be a beautiful time to visit,” said SCV Executive Director Michael Haney. “April is a great month to book your first visit to discover what makes our world-class wines so delicious. For our loyal fans who make it a priority to visit our wineries regularly, we can’t wait to see you again!”

For those who can’t make it to Sonoma County to celebrate Wine Month, there are many options to participate at home. Virtual wine tastings and even a food and wine scavenger hunt can be booked online. New wine releases and “wine for good” offers with proceeds benefiting nonprofits are also available on participating winery websites and available for shipping to most states.

With more than 400 wineries producing wines from more than 60 grape varieties in 19 designated American Viticultural Areas, there is sure to be something for every palate. Choose from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Gris, Viognier, Pinot Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese and Petite Sirah – as well as other limited-production gems. So many wine grapes can thrive in this wonderland stretching from cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean to mountains and valleys blanketed in microclimates.
