The 2023 competition saw the most high-quality selection of wines yet, with 142 wines from 66 different Virginia wineries earning a gold medal in the event. Independently judged by wine professionals this is an indicator of the great and growing quality of the wine industry in Virginia. The coveted Governor’s Cup Case of the 12 best wines in the competition was comprised of 9 wineries including the Cup Winner, Delfosse Vineyards & Winery, for their 2021 Screaming Hawk Meritage.
