March 13th – The St. Regis Venice and celebrated winery from Veneto Bertani are proud to present an exclusive wine pairing dinner taking place at the storied hotel’s Gio’s restaurant on 16 March 2023, focusing on Amarone della Valpolicella Classico wines.

As part of the four-course gastronomic experience from the hotel’s Executive Chef Giuseppe Ricci, guests will have the unique opportunity to savour four exquisite vintages from Bertani Library – the only winery in Valpolicella with 48 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico vintages covering six decades from 1958.

In addition to a guided tasting from a Bertani representative, The St. Regis Venice will also treat oenophiles to a unique visual experience, with each vintage being presented in four different glasses, including two from Berengo Studio’s Murano glass artisans, inviting guests to contemplate the complex interplay of taste, smell and touch.

Known for the rigorous style and unmistakable identity of its wines, the storied wine producer Bertani has recently received the coveted Winery of the Year award from Gambero Rosso – publisher of the leading guide “Italian Wines”.

The Bertani wine pairing dinner at The St. Regis Venice will take place on 16 March 2023 from 7.30 pm onwards. The price is 500€ per person for four courses paired with wine.

Bertani 1857

Bertani was founded in 1857 by Bertani brothers, in Quinto di Valpantena, to the north of Verona. From the very beginning, they used the most advanced production techniques, both in vinegrowing and winemaking, and applied them to all their properties, from Valpantena to Soave, with total respect for the territory.

In the mid-twentieth century, with the purchase of Tenuta Novare in Valpolicella Classica, Bertani conducted research lasting half a century to produce the Wine that was made to last forever. This is where the history of Amarone begins – a wine that symbolizes the territory it comes from. Moreover, the winery owns one of the deepest wine library in the world: 48 old vintages of Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, from 1958 to 2012.

Today the winery keeps doing what the founders did then, that is, making wines that are recognizable and have an identity, wines with a clear stylistic profile that makes them unmistakable.
