March 8, 2023 — CALIFORNIA — Sustainable canned wine company Djuce announces their expansion to the United States, launching on the West Coast in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego. Founded in Stockholm, Sweden in 2022, Djuce aims to change the whole experience of drinking wine. At the core is top European wine producers, talented artists and sustainable aluminium cans. By switching from glass bottles to cans, the CO2 emissions related to packaging are reduced by 79%, as aluminum is 28 times more efficient to recycle, and three-quarters of all aluminum ever mined is still in use today. By opting for Djuce, natural oenophiles are choosing to make a dramatic difference for the planet.
Djuce comes into the industry as a self-proclaimed underdog and challenger of the wine status quo. Using the campaign tagline #BreakGlass, Djuce calls attention to the sustainability factor of the glass itself, while also poking fun at the established wine world and its traditions. The company wants their wine to be consumed in new places, by new wine drinkers, creating new traditions. During 2023 several untraditional initiatives will be launched to support this movement.
Djuce offers eleven wines from seven regions, produced by seven acclaimed European winemakers. All Djuce wines are sustainably farmed, certified organic, vegan, no sugar, and low on sulfites.

“We are excited to bring some of the best producers in Europe to the US, and offer consumers top wines, packaged in an untraditional and sustainable way. With Djuce, we want to create a new kind of relationship and experience around wine,” shares Founder Philip Marthinsen. “To quote The New York Times, the wine industry certainly has an old people problem. We need to make wine more playful, modern, and unpretentious – while of course playing tribute to the craft and quality of the actual liquid.”
At 250mL – or about two glasses of wine per can – Djuce comes in the perfect size. Plus, cans are twenty times lighter, twice as efficient to transport, and do not break as easily as glass bottles. Djuce’s custom can liner protects the juice from ever coming in contact with the aluminum.
Djuce wines are available to purchase in single cans, and will be soon available in twelve- and twenty four-packs. Djuce is available for purchase at the following stockists in Los Angeles: Erewhon, Chateau Marmont, Gjusta Grocer, Wine + Eggs, Apt 200 LA, Broad Street Oyster Co., Divine Vintage, Flask & Field, Gold Line, Highland Park Wine, SIP SNACK, and Venice Beach Wines.
