WSET Program at WOW’s Wine School

Registration for WSET courses has already started at WOW’s Wine School. The first classes began in January 2023, with an extra module entirely dedicated to Portuguese wines. 

March 9th – Vila Nova de Gaia – WOW’s Wine School began teaching the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) courses in January 2023, with classes to continue throughout the year. In this first stage, The Wine School will teach levels I and II, in Portuguese and English, and classes will be available in the evenings and during the weekend. 

These WSET qualification courses are ideal for those who wish to start a professional career path in the wine sector, those who already work in the industry and consumers who enjoy wine and are more interested in the subject. These courses are also useful for both acquiring new skills as well as earning international validation of them, since WSET courses are taught and recognized in more than 70 countries worldwide. 

Extra Module of “Portuguese Wine Specialist – PWS”

In addition to the official WSET courses, WOW’s Wine School has also created an extra module dedicated to Portuguese wines, which aims to explore national wine region and their specificities through the methodology of the WSET accredited program. 

Those interested can register for WSET level 1 (280€) or level 2 (690€), depending on their current accreditation. Wine aficionados can also purchase the Portuguese Wine Specialist module at either level 1 (80€) or level 2 (160€), as well as the combination of the WSET + PWS module at both level 1 (330€) and level 2 (790€). 

The courses will be taught by Diego Ventura, Senior Educator at WOW’s Wine School, who is also a WSET nominated educator. Registration and the 2023 course calendar is available online, any questions can be sent to via email wset@wow.pt

Registration includes a study plan and pre-course training, entry to WOW’s Wine Experience, as well as special offers for the restaurants in the cultural district during the course period. Enrollment also includes a post-course cocktail reception for trainees to celebrate the completion of their course

WOW is the new cultural district of Greater Porto and is located in the historic centre of Vila Nova de Gaia. It was born from the renovated Port Wine cellars, in a project that was classified as Potential National Interest (PIN). It has a gross area of 55 thousand square metres and includes a total of seven museums, twelve restaurants and cafés, shops, a Wine School, an exhibition space and various event spaces.
