Kenwood, CA (March 2, 2023) — It’s almost springtime in Sonoma Valley, which means it’s time to talk about bud break! Muscardini Cellars is thrilled to announce the upcoming Grape Journey Tour on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Vadasz Vineyards, from 11am-1pm. This very special experience is crafted for wine lovers of all kinds featuring one of Michael Muscardini’s all-time favorite grapes, Syrah. For Muscardini, Syrah brings him back to the winery’s roots, as it was the very first wine bottled back in 2005 with Unti Vineyards. While the primary focus has been and always will be Italian varietals, Syrah holds a special significance for Muscardini.

During this immersive deep-dive, guests will get to see the cycle of bud break in the vineyard and hear from premiere Sonoma Valley grape grower of over 25 years, Judy Vadasz. When Judy and husband Les purchased their property back in 1997, the land originally was used as a horse ranch called “Saddles Rock Horse Ranch”. Ultimately, Judy’s focus was on the vineyards and since the purchase, Judy has continued to be a true steward of the land. Today, her property is set up to grow almost any varietal and is done so on all organic land.

Judy will be joined by Head Winemaker, Michael Muscardini, as they take guests on a guided tour through the beautiful Vadasz property and discuss the ins and outs of the grape’s journey from vine, to barrel, to bottle. There will be an open discussion followed by an elevated Wine & Cheese Pairing, designed to enhance the flavors in the wine and let them shine with every sip. To top it all off, get some pairing tips and tricks from Food & Wine Specialist, Karen Hannah.

Wine & Cheese Pairing Menu:

  • 2022 Syrah, Vadasz Vineyards, Sonoma Valley
    • Homemade Ricotta | Raspberry Chipotle Sauce | Fennel Pollen Salt | Marcona Almonds | Olive Oil
