The e-commerce data is compiled from over 400 cider producers across more than 40 states.
“We have broken out our findings in some non-traditional ways this time,” said Steven Harrison, Vinoshipper CEO. “The report includes the difference in demographics of buyers between cans and bottles, most popular cider alcohol percentages, container types and their price per liter and unit, allowing producers to benchmark themselves to the industry averages.”
Headline figures:
- Annual Sales of cider, in bottle and in cans, increased 5.7% and 1.9%, respectively. Liters of cider sold, in bottle and in can, increased 1.4% and 1.9%, respectively.
- The four most used container types were 750ml bottle, 500ml bottle, 375ml bottle, and 4x12oz can. The average price per liter of those container types ranged from $8.53 per liter to $47.32 per liter.
- The number of cider producers which ran a club increased to 33% in 2022, with an average of 12 ship to states, both of which set new highs in their category.
The range of data is pulled from micro to small cider producers and the data is based on the actual direct sales transactions of the producers.
