January 9th – The Statler French-American Bistro will host a Passport To France Wine Series in 2023. You are invited to explore the wine regions of France as you sip and taste wine and food pairings at The Statler. Each month three regional dishes, created by Executive Chef Sean Force will pair with three wines, selected by Sommelier Lisa Ribaudo, creating a culinary tour of food, wine and friendship. These meal and wine combinations will create unforgettable and elevated dining experiences keeping you coming back each month.

January 18: Left Bank Bordeaux
Bordeaux is one of the most famous wine-producing regions in the world, known for producing some of the rarest and finest wines. Left Bank Bordeaux
- Huitres Au Four (Oven Roasted Oysters) paired with Chateau Greysac ‘Le Blanc de Greysac’
- Torchon de Foie Gras (Chilled Foie Gras) paired with Legende ‘Medoc’ by Domaine Barons de Rothschild
- Agneau Roti (Roast Lamb) paired with Chateau Odilon
February 22: Right Bank Bordeaux
Right Bank wines are predominantly Merlot based, with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot used as blending components. Reds will take the center stage at this event.
- Carpaccio de Boeuf (Beef Carpaccio) paired with Legende ‘Rouge’ by Domaine Barons de Rothschild
- Croque Madame (Classic French Sandwich) paired with Legende ‘St. Emilion’ by Domaine Barons de Rothschild

March 22: Burgundy – Cote de Beaune
Cote de Beaune is in the southern half of the Corte d’Or wine region. The top reds are frequently softer and sometimes lusher than those from the Cote de Nuits. Their wines are often laced with minerals, exotic spices, licorice, or truffles.

April 19: Burgundy – Cote de Nuits
Cote de Nuits is the northern section of the Cote d’Or wine region. It specializes in red wines made predominantly from Pinot Noir. These top reds often have a greater intensity and a firmer structure than those from Cote de Beaune.

May 24: Languedoc-Roussillon
The wines from here have culled from over 100 grape varieties and are varied as the jigsaw of its microclimates and terrains, which stretch along the Mediterranean between Provence and the Spanish border.

June 21: Provence
With its rolling hills, lavender aromas, idyllic French setting, and quaint little chateaus, you’ll see that this is the spot for Rose as well as reds from Cabernet Sauvignon, Greache, Syrah, and Mourvedre.

August 23: Loire Valley
The Loire Valley is one of France’s most picturesque regions, featuring gorgeous fairytale-like castles. It is referred to as the Garden of France due to the abundance of vineyards, fruit orchards, and artichoke and asparagus fields. This region produces mainly white wines such as Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc.

September 20: Northern Rhone Valley
The Rhone Valley sits in southeastern France. The gastronomic offerings from this region have been honed for hundreds of years with influences from Mediterranean flavors and even ingredients from Africa.

October 18: Southern Rhone Valley
Cotes du Rhone is southeast France’s warmer, richer, spicier answer to the dry austerity of Bordeaux. These seductive wines are France’s most alcoholic, with 14-15% with its most common being the Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
