Napa, California | October 12, 2022: Just in time for harvest, the Winery Compliance Training Academy has released its How to Complete the California Grape Crush Report compliance training. This self-paced, online training course provides an immersive and comprehensive guide through completing the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) required record keeping and activity for grape crush specific compliance.

Who Benefits From Compliance Training

Who should take this training? This course is ideal for anyone who’s unsure if their winery is keeping up with California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) requirements for grape crush reporting. Those with uncertainties about tracking and reporting harvest activities correctly, and concerns about potential audits, can benefit greatly from course content. After all, harvest only comes once a year, making it challenging to remember reporting requirements!

For those with hesitations regarding accurate record keeping, and desires to get better organized and simplified for winery compliance activities, this multimedia course will put fears to rest and ensure it’s getting done the right way.

Course Content Focuses on California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Grape Crush Reporting Regulations

This course focuses specifically on California grape crush reporting requirements, which applies to all California wineries. (The Winery Compliance Training Academy has a separate course for completing the federal TTB 5120.17 report, which applies to all U.S. wineries, TTB Winery Harvest Compliance Training.)

What students learn:

  1. Who is required to file this report
  2. How to organize the grape information so it makes it easier to fill in the report
  3. What a winery is required to report versus what a client at a winery reports
  4. What the difference is between a custom crush client and an alternating proprietor client
  5. How to fill in the information on each tab of the report—shown with examples

What students get:

  1. 16 Instructional videos
  2. 4 Handouts
  3. Quizzes to test understanding
  4. Two ways to get Answers to questions, including: Option 1. Type questions in any comment box below a video and WCTA respond with an answer; and Option 2. WCTA will host two sessions of a live Q&A session over Zoom
  5. Recordings of Q&A calls for those can’t make zooms in person
  6. Peace of mind that this report now makes sense!
