Argentine Winery Alta Vista Launches New Single Vineyard Wine, Albaneve

September 29th – Single Vineyard Albaneve 2018 (SRP: $51) is 100% Malbec and shows aromas of blueberries, blackberries, and tropical notes reminiscent of guava jam on the nose. In the mouth, it is powerful and broad with a refreshing acidity. Aging notes of fresh butter and vanilla are on the palate.

Alta Vista farms vineyards in the areas of Lujan de Cuyo and Valle de Uco, the best winegrowing areas within Mendoza, and Cafayate, the prime area in Salta. Argentine grapes have the longest “hangtime” of any grapes grown in the world, which results in balanced wines with fruit-forward flavors and smooth tannins. Alta Vista’s vineyards are all over 3,200 feet in elevation, producing wines of even greater freshness and complexity. The vineyard for Albaneve was planted in 1999 in Valle De Uco, with deep soils of sandy texture, consisting mainly of rocks.

About Alta Vista Winery

Established in 1998, Alta Vista is a French family-owned winery that focuses on the production of high altitude, site-specific wines. The family’s winemaking knowledge and passion, together with its former ownership of the famous champagne house Piper-Heidsieck, provided the impetus to create a harmonious French-Argentine fusion. Years of research brought them to the top growing regions of Mendoza, an area best suited for the creation of terroir-expression wines. Recognized by major wine publications as one of Argentina’s top producers, the winery pioneered the “single vineyard” concept in Argentina in 2001.
