Livermore Valley’s Blessing of the Grapes: Event Recap

August 18th – On Wednesday, August 17, approximately 50 winemakers and wine industry professionals gathered at Fenestra Winery for Livermore Valley’s annual Blessing of the Grapes. Brandi Lombardi, Interim Director of the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association, led the ceremony and was joined by Fenestra’s Winemaker Aaron Luna and three local clergy who blessed the grapes: 

• Father Kwame, St. Charles Borromeo
• Pastor Steve Wilde, First Presbyterian Church of Livermore
• Rabbi Larry Milder, Congregation Beth Emek

This centuries-old ceremony honors the vineyards and the people who make the annual harvest a reality.
