Ian discovered the wine industry at the ripe age of 21 while working for Thomas Keller and Joachim Splichal in the formidable dining rooms of Los Angeles in the early 90s. Ian quickly developed a passion for wine and became dedicated to sharing his unique insights with the wine community. This commitment to educating others kicked off Ian’s long and ongoing career in the wine industry.
With over 25 years of experience traveling the wine world, Ian is a published author (Wiley Publications, 2002), has 10 vintages of top level winemaking on his resume (Beekeeper Cellars), and is considered one of the region’s best wine educators. Working with and alongside the world’s greatest wine brands for most of his adult-life and leading wine and culinary tours around the world, has given Ian more than a few great stories to share.
