Mezzacorona Reimagines Rotari Metodo Classico Trentodoc’s Portfolio

Introducing Two Collections To Serve Their Growing Clientele

NEW YORK (June 13, 2022) – Rotari Metodo Classico Trentodoc, from leading Italian wine producer Mezzacorona, announced today that their portfolio will now include the launch of two separate collections to complement one another, while better serving the markets needs. The elegant and refined sparkling wine brand will now offer a collection of vintage bottles 2016 Rotari Platinum and Blossom, representing a high-quality expression of Trentodoc to their on-premise clientele. The second collection will include newly designed Rotari Brut and Rosé bottles, two impactful, affordable wines that Rotari is best known for to be distributed through wine retailers nationwide.

“We implemented this two-fold strategy to offer our partners the advantage of having our vintage expressions on-premise, while also offering our consumers a beautiful new look of our signature Rotari Brut and Rosé,” says Barbara Darra, Global Marketing Manager for Gruppo Mezzacorona. “We feel this new direction will better serve our clientele both on and off-premise, and create a greater impact within the market, highlighting the premium quality of our wine.”

2016 Rotari Platinum and Blossom

There is a 24-month aging process on the lees, giving these wines the characteristic bread notes of champenoise method, which form very fine bubbles. The base wines combined with the partial aging in wood, produce a perfectly balanced final wine, from the freshness of the aromas of the grapes, to the maturity given by the aging on the lees, as well as the choice of cuvee.

“These wines bring the sense of purity and cleanliness of the immaculate Trentino valleys,” says Mezzacorona Winemaker Maurizio Maurizi, “The unique climate, the sustainable farming, the Dolomites, and the exposure of our valleys, lead to sparkling wines of unique and unmistakable quality.”

Rotari Platinum is an iconic expression of viticulture from the hills which lie along the Adige River, in the heart of the Dolomites Mountains, and where both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir thrive in unparalleled microclimates. Initially the nose is expressive and lifted with aromas of toast, wild-flowers, stone fruit and fresh pineapple. It is the perfect pairing as an aperitif or with light pasta or meat dishes.

Rotari Blossom expresses the unique territory in the glass and causes one’s senses to discover the singular perfumed aromas that only Pinot Noir, from the Dolomites can express. Rotari Blossom has an aroma of fragrant red fruit with a floral note and aromas of pastry on the nose, and slightly yeasty and brioche character. It is lovely as an aperitif or paired with appetizers, risotto, or light meat dishes.

Rotari Brut and Rosé

The grapes for Rotari Brut and Rosé are carefully selected and cultivated at altitudes that allow a perfect aromatic maturity and give life to sparkling wines of a unique finesse. With these wines, the goal was to emphasize the quality of the grapes during the 24-month aging process and to create expressions where the aromas of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (in the case of Rosé) are the masters, caressed by notes of yeast, and of course refinement. Rotari Brut and Rosé are a perlage with a contemporary style, elegant and well-balanced making both expressions ideal for special festive gatherings.

“The Rotari Brut and Rosé are expressions of purity at their best,” says Maurizi, “Created by the uniqueness of places where the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are grown: the foothills of the Dolomites, a region with valleys, little human presence and crossed by rivers and waters that create an enchanting territory.”

The Rotari Rosé has a bouquet that is fruity with hints of wild strawberries, currant and grape stems. The flavor is fresh, fragrant, intense with hints of yeasts and spices. Rotari Rosé pairs well with all meals, especially fish.

Rotari Brut has a bouquet that’s fresh, intense and fruity with flavors that are full, fragrant, harmonic and pleasantly balanced. It’s optimal as an aperitif.
