The nation’s premier Black-owned wine festival to expand impact featuring all Black-owned wine brands for this year’s four-city tour

April 21st – UNITED STATES (U.S.) – Célébrez en Rosé wine and music festival, one of the nation’s preeminent Black-owned and produced events, has announced it will exclusively feature selections from Black-owned wine brands at all four events planned for 2022.

Attendees at this year’s festival, which will take place this summer in Atlanta, Houston, Washington D.C., and Chicago, will enjoy wines from three marquee Black-owned wine brands: La Fête Wine Company, McBride Sisters Wine Company, and Michael Lavelle Wines.

La Fête Wine Company, the makers of luxury rosé label La Fête du Rosé, made its debut in 2019 as a fresh, modern, and inclusive wine brand geared toward drinkers of all backgrounds. Since its inception, Founder & CEO Donae Burston has donated a portion of La Fête’s proceeds to various programs that send underrepresented youth on unique travel experiences and organizations focused on creating opportunities for the BIPOC community in the wine and spirits industry.

McBride Sisters Wine Company, owned and founded by Sisters Robin McBride and Andréa McBride John, is one of the most inclusive, accessible, socially aware, and sustainable in the industry, as well as the largest Black-owned wine company. The Sisters will be featuring their highly celebrated and award-winning Black Girl Magic Rosé at the festival. In addition to their portfolio of wines, in 2019 they created the McBride Sisters SHE CAN Fund, which has awarded more than $3M in grants and scholarships to advance the professional development of women in male-dominated industries and to close the race and gender gap in wine.

Michael Lavelle Wines, a luxury private wine label, launched its first varietal, Iris Rosé, featuring a delicious melody of cabernet and pinot grigio grapes grown in coastal California in June 2020. Now recognized as the youngest Black wine company owners, Aaron “Michael” Coad, Terrence “Lavelle” Low, Devin Kennedy, and Brandon Crump got started through a passionate curiosity about wine and its rich history and recognized a glaring void in fresh, culturally relevant wine craftsmanship offered and marketed towards millennials and minority audiences. With an ambition to develop a disruptive brand fused with art, education, and philanthropy, Michael Lavelle Wines has continued to expand, meeting the next generation of wine drinkers and wine professionals where they are, which is helping to bring their audience further into the world of high-quality wine.

“This partnership is consistent with our belief in using our events as a platform to support and uplift other Black and minority-owned companies,” said Cleveland Spears, III, founder of Célébrez en Rosé. “La Fête, McBride Sisters Wine Company, and Michael Lavelle Wines represent the best of the best in winemaking and continue to shake up an industry that’s traditionally lacked representation. We are thrilled to partner with such esteemed Black-owned brands and entrepreneurs. Together, we will be serving up Black excellence, wrapped in pink, all summer long.”

“Since day one, my mission and goal have been to redefine who drinks rosé and when,” said Donae Burston, Founder & CEO of La Fête Wine Company. “Participating in cultural events such as Célébrez en Rosé continues our mission to present to the world the beautiful wine that is La Fête du Rosé.”

This year’s festival will feature an all-star music lineup, including world-renowned hitmaker Robin Thicke in Atlanta, Houston, and D.C.; Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and actress Mýa in Houston and Chicago; hip-hop legend DJ Jazzy Jeff in Atlanta, Houston, and D.C.; Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and producer Tamia in D.C.; and contemporary R&B artist and actor Rotimi in Atlanta; among others.

“We’re so excited to be back in person celebrating all things Rosé in some of our favorite cities and with amazing Black-owned brands and colleagues,” said Robin McBride, Co-Founder and President of McBride Sisters Wine Company. “There’s an indescribable joy in turning moments into unforgettable celebrations. That’s the power of Black Girl Magic Wine.

Célébrez en Rosé will be making its third appearance in both the Atlanta and D.C. markets and debuting for the first time in two new cities, Houston and Chicago, in 2022. The festival kicks off in Atlanta during Mother’s Day Weekend on Saturday, May 7, followed by Houston during Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 28, Washington, D.C. on Saturday, June 11 (National Rosé Day), and Chicago on Saturday, June 25 (International Rosé Day).

“Michael Lavelle Wines aims to change the luxury experience by being accessible not only in Michelin star restaurants but also in local stores and at cultural events like the Célébrez en Rosé Festival,” said Terrence Low, Founder & Head of House, Michael Lavelle Wines. “We’re excited to further our commitment to providing unmatched wine experiences and shining a light on high-quality, premium wine alongside these other amazing wine companies.”

Since its founding in 2018 in Atlanta, the picnic-style event has continued to grow in popularity and attendance, having sold out its second annual appearance in Atlanta and inaugural event in D.C. the following year, attracting thousands of attendees dressed in their finest pink and white summer attire.
