(March 10, 2022 – Windsor, CA) — Founded in 2014 by Roger & Donna Beery, J. Cage Cellars has opened a tasting room on the downtown Windsor Green. They join Mengler Family Wines in a well-appointed tasting lounge and are welcoming guests to a delicious tasting experience of their small-lot wines.
“Founding J. Cage Cellars in 2014 had profound meaning for me,” says Roger Beery. “Taking a chance and pursuing my love for making beautiful Sonoma County wines while paying respect to my family’s entrepreneurial history was the realization of a dream. We saw so many wine friends living their dreams, and decided to take a leap of faith in creating our family wine brand. J. Cage Cellars was born from raw inspiration to craft something special for people that enriches their life with treasured moments.”
Donna and Roger Beery started a wine blog titled Bacchus and Beery in 2009, where they wrote about all things wine, love, fun, and food and their family’s love affair with wine. Wine has always played an important role in their lives. It gave them a shared passion, along with making lifelong friends, and has become something they now share with their children. Together in 2014, they launched J. Cage Cellars, a boutique winery in Sonoma County. After receiving his Viticulture and Enology degree from Texas Tech University, their oldest, Conch, leads the winemaking for J. Cage Cellars, along with consulting winemaker, Adam Lee.
“Since its beginning, J. Cage Cellars has had one goal: to make compelling and exciting wines that speak clearly of the vineyard, variety, and vintage from which they are born,” says Beery. “We are so excited to be opening a tasting room and sharing our wines with the many people visiting Sonoma County from all over the country.”
