7 January – In December 2021, the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation presented checks totaling $195,575 to five local children’s charities at a special check presentation event. Guests gathered at the Wente Vineyards Tasting Lounge to receive the checks and celebrate the success of this year’s Livermore Valley Wine Auction. The 27th annual Livermore Valley Wine Auction, a festive outdoor garden party that featured live and silent auctions, was held on September 25, 2021 at Wente Vineyards.

The fund-a-need benefiting SPARC’s new arts education program for local 7th grade students was particularly successful this past year, raising $85,575 for this program. The other beneficiaries who received the proceeds of this past year’s event are CALICO, achieving justice for abused children; Exceptional Needs Network, providing summer camps for children with special needs; QUEST, providing science education for local children; and Reins in Motion, offering equestrian therapy for children with special needs. All of the beneficiaries shared that the donations from the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation would make a significant positive impact on their organizations.

The Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation is now accepting beneficiary applications for the 28th annual Livermore Valley Wine Auction, to be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Applicants must be non-profit 501(c)3 organizations who provide services to under-served local children. Beneficiary applications are due by January 31, 2022 and more information can be found at https://lvwf.org/beneficiaries/.

Thank you to the Livermore Valley winemakers who generously poured their great wines at the event and donated excellent wines and exclusive live and silent auction lots for the auction. The Livermore Valley Wine Auction was generously presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union with Jeff and Doris Hank. Thank you also to Black Tie Transportation, Diablo Magazine, Gallo Glass, Lam Research, Safeway, World Cooperage and all of our generous sponsors and supporters.
