Attendees will learn how to handle common wine faults

Stonewall, Texas – November 12, 2021 – Kuhlman Cellars will host a Vina Vita University “Naughty or Nice” wine education class on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 11 am – 1 pm.  This installment of Kuhlman Cellars’ wine appreciation series, led by Kuhlman Cellars’ Tasting Room Manager Molly Richardson, will teach attendees about common wine faults, how to detect them, and what to do when you encounter them at a restaurant or your home.

During the class, attendees will:

  • Learn how to identify common wine faults such as TCA (corked), oxidized, volatile acidity, heat damaged, unbalanced oak, and unbalanced alcohol
  • Smell and taste wines which have been treated with common faults along with their unaffected wines
  • Learn what to do when you encounter these faults whether you’re at a restaurant or at home

“This class is really about expanding your wine vocabulary, understanding how to identify when things go wrong, and how to differentiate between good and faulty wines,” says Kuhlman Cellars Tasting Room Manager, Molly Richardson, “We also talk through how to understand the differences between wines you just don’t like and wines that are faulted but might otherwise be interesting to you.”
