Livermore Valley wineries partner with animal rescues to promote adoption

Livermore Valley, Calif. (October 4, 2021)— Friendly dogs and their wine-loving owners will want to sit and stay in Livermore Valley wine country on October 30, noon to 4:30pm, for the return of Wine & Wags. More than 20 local wineries have partnered with 13 Bay Area animal rescues to host a day of wine tasting, dog adoptions and fun activities for man and his best friend. There is no need to beg—all attendees and their leashed dogs will have the opportunity to enjoy grassy lawns, doggie obstacle courses, dog pools and treats throughout the day. Many wineries will offer discounts on bottles of wine in addition to food and pet-themed gifts for purchase. Tickets are $30 in advance at www.LVwine.org and $35 at the event.

Thanks to the involvement of more than a dozen local animal rescue organizations, many dogs seeking homes will be available for adoption at wineries during the event. Guests are encouraged to bring their friendly, leashed dogs to enjoy the day but pets are not required. Wine tasting, treats for dogs and many fun activities are covered by admission, including:

  • Pet and owner costume parade at 2pm at Retzlaff Vineyards
  • Obedience demonstration by Brat Pak Dog Kamp at Page Mill Winery
  • Dog photo booth and belly rub station at Rosa Fierro Cellars
  • Doggie obstacle course at Garré Vineyard & Winery

Fenestra Winery’s Pup Bar will offer a variety of refreshing pet beverages and Big White House will sell “Barkcuterie” boxes of dog treats to benefit their partner rescue.

Tickets for Wine & Wags are $30 in advance at www.LVwine.org and $35 at the event. Each tickets includes entrance into participating wineries, a celebratory Livermore Valley Wine Country GoVino glass, at least two wine tastes at each winery and access to event activities. Attending dogs must be leashed at all times.
