Latinas Wine Club Celebrates Its One-Year Anniversary with the Official Launch of #WineSchool

Toasting a new year for the wine collective with their latest initiatives, wine Socios (partners), brand ambassador program and more robust membership offerings

NEW YORK, NY, October 1, 2021 – Latinas Wine Club (LWC), the first, global Latina wine collective designed to educate, empower, and elevate Latinas through wine, is celebrating its one-year anniversary with the announcement of new and evolving programs including #WineSchool, Socios (partnership) initiative,  Ambassadors program, expanding membership benefits, and directory of winemakers/proprietors.

#WineSchool is an educational platform, created by co-founders Martha Cisneros and Erlinda A. Doherty, offering customized content that will be shared on their website This new offering includes educational videos ideal for all wine enthusiasts as well as those wishing to supplement formal wine certification courses, content will also provide mentorship and counseling for wine industry career paths. A private Facebook group will also allow more interaction between members.

“We’re excited to celebrate our one-year anniversary and continue developing new ways to encourage our vino community to learn and engage,” says Erlinda A. Doherty. “Wine education is the corazon, heart, of our initiative.  And since everyone experiences wine differently, we want to bring unique opportunities to support our Latinas in their vino voyage.”

Latinas Wine Club initiated a soft launch of #WineSchool this summer with their “How to Host Your Own Wine Tasting” series including a constant streaming video guide recorded by LWC’s own Latina Somm Erlinda A. Doherty, a checklist for items needed to host a wine tasting, suggested themes for the event, a personalized link to the Latinas Wine Club Wine tasting mats, and access to the private Facebook page for additional info and questions.

The wine industry continues to grow, and it is projected to amass $444.93 billion by 2027, according to Fortune Business Insights. However, it is known for not acknowledging Latino wine consumers, whose buying power is estimated to be around $1.7 trillion. A combination of the lack of Latino representation in the wine industry, and the search for an online community during the pandemic was a driving force for Martha and Erlinda to start the Latinas Wine Club.

“From social feed to social hub, what started as an Instagram page in the Summer of 2020 quickly took on a life of its own and became a force for Latinas to support and learn about wine together,” says Martha Cisneros. “Exposing the lack of representation in the industry and the buying power in the Latino community was well embraced by our members and caught the attention of many in the wine industry as well. Erlinda and I are excited to continue developing our platform offerings, partnerships and growing our community in the next year.”

Those evolving offerings and partnerships include:

Socios, industry partnership program developed by Latinas Wine Club. These socios (partners) work together with LWC in various capacities from single events/wine education classes to long-term partnership developing educational components and fun wine tastings all centered around the Latina community.

Current Socios: La Competencia Imports, Velenosi Vini, David Milligan Selections, VARA Wines, the French Cheese Board, Maison Louis Jadot, Kobrand Wine & Spirits, Champagne Tattinger, Baddish Wine Group
