Message from CEO Ryan Klobas
September 16th – Napa, CA—The Napa County Farm Bureau is proud to celebrate National Teach Ag Day today and recognize the tremendous importance that agricultural education has on our community as a whole in Napa County.
As we move closer to the end of the second year of a global pandemic, the importance of agricultural education becomes clearer and clearer. Agriculture teachers’ mentor, motivate, and make a difference in the lives of their students every day. By using the three-circle model of instruction, agriculture teachers provide their students with classroom knowledge, leadership and experiential learning experiences unlike any other career and technical program.
Agriculture teachers in Napa County and across the country set the stage for our future through educating students about the importance of sustainable practices in agriculture. Through inquiry-based classroom and laboratory experiences, agriculture teachers inspire their students to become future entrepreneurs and agriculturalists by developing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
“As the economic driving force in Napa County, the importance of agriculture can never be understated. One of the fundamental missions of the Napa County Farm Bureau is not only representing the current generation of agricultural professionals in Napa County, but also ensuring that we have a next generation that is inspired to work in Napa County agriculture and contribute to the fabric of our community,” said Ryan Klobas, Chief Executive Officer of the Napa County Farm Bureau. “Through the work of our foundation, we constantly strive to promote agricultural education through events such as Ag Day, Ag In The Classroom and scholarships to Napa County high school students pursuing college study of agriculture. Robust agricultural education in Napa County is key to ensuring we continue to remain a world-class community.”
National Teach Ag Day is a part of the NAAE National Teach Ag Campaign and sponsored by the CHS Foundation, Corteva Agriscience™, Growth Energy, and BASF.
