Lompoc, CA (September 3, 2021) – All are invited to join Flying Goat Cellars in a reception for local artist Vicki Andersen on Friday, September 10, 4-6pm at the tasting room. Make a toast to Andersen with a glass of Flying Goat wine and purchase her original artwork or giclee. Andersen’s exhibit includes her familiar acrylic painting, “Sunflower Vintage,” which was used in a poster for the Santa Barbara Vintners Festival on April 16, 2011, at River Park held in Lompoc. Her paintings, which depict vineyard and wine related themes, are featured through the end of September at the Flying Goat Cellars Tasting Room gallery located at 1520 E. Chestnut Court in Lompoc.
Andersen has been painting since her 16th birthday when she was given a set of oils and an easel by her “not yet Step-Father.” That eventually led to earning a degree in Illustration at CalState Long Beach. She has always loved color but her style has become much looser over the years. Most of her current work leans toward the impressionist/post-impressionist style. She does her best work very quickly, which is why when someone asks her how long a piece took to paint she always replies, “Over 40 years.”
As a self described “Air Force brat,” Andersen was born a tourist and still loves to travel. She generally works from her own photographs. If you see a painting of Venice, etc., she was there and felt and touched it. A variety of her work can also be viewed at www.vickiandersen.com. Contact Vicki at 805-588-3459 or vicart@aol.com.
