Educator Dr. Hoby Wedler, Winemaker Alex Holman, Chef Didier Ageorges team up

Windsor, Sonoma County, July 2021 — On September 18 Notre Vue Estate has organized a “Super-Sensory Trio Experience,” where Dr. Hoby Wedler, the acclaimed “super-taster,” will, along with Notre Vue Estate winemaker Alex Holman and Didier Ageorges, Pascaline’s Executive Chef, present newly released wines and a delicious dinner, while they guide guests on a carefully curated sensory food and wine pairing experience.

“We are delighted to have Dr. Wedler as our special guest for this event,” explains Renee Brown Stein, the winery proprietor. “In the wine industry he is referred to as a ‘super-taster.’ Tasting ‘blind,’ he can identify the tiniest percentages of varietals in a glass of wine, far beyond the skill set of most professionals,” she says. Dr. Wedler has trained wine staff at The French Laundry and Francis Ford Coppola Winery, among others. Among other accolades, he was named a leader in the food and drink industry by Forbes Media; President Barack Obama called him a “Champion of Change.”

The evening will begin with a blindfolded wine tasting experience as Dr. Wedler guides the guests through a 45-minute pairing with a focus on aromas, taking senses to new heights. New release wines from Notre Vue Estate will be featured.  “These three experts will be collaborating as a team to create an unforgettable sensory experience,” Stein explains. The event will take place on The Terrace, overlooking the winery’s lakes and rolling hills of vineyards, situated in the Russian River and Chalk Hill growing regions.

Cost is $155 per person ($135 for wine club members) and the dinner begins at 5:00 p.m. with a splash of Notre Vue Sparkling Rosé of GSM and passed hors d’oeuvres. Advance reservations are required, by calling 707/433-4050 or https://www.cellarpass.com/events/super-sensory-trio-experience-winemaker-dinner-7858.

Notre Vue Estate

Spanning both the Russian River and Chalk Hill growing regions, the winery welcomes guests for tastings and also for a wide variety of special events. The property encompasses 710 acres of land in both the Chalk Hill and Russian River Valley appellations. The Estate was founded by Bob and Renee Stein in 1992. Approximately 350 acres are dedicated to open space and classified as “Forever Wild” under an agreement with the Sonoma County Open Space District.  The 250 acres of vineyards are planted to 16 varietals. Red-tailed hawks, turkeys, hummingbirds and perhaps a Golden Eagle or two will soar above as bikers, hikers and walkers enjoy the views of the estate’s lakes and rolling hills. At the highest point on the property there are sweeping views to the east to the mountains above St. Helena and to the west as far as the Pacific Ocean. Reservations are recommended by contacting info@notrevueestate.com or tastingsalon@notrevueestate.com.
