Sebastopol, CA, July 28, 2021 – Vintage Pinot Noirs come out of the family cellar for Dutton Estate Winery’s “Comparative Library Pinot Event” on August 13th, 14th and 15th.  Guests will taste three side-by-side flights comparing library vintages alongside their current release, with paired cheese and charcuterie.

The Dutton Family is synonymous with Russian River Valley Pinot Noir; celebrating the Dutton connection to this grape variety throughout the decades is the cornerstone of the event weekend.  Husband and wife Joe and Tracy Dutton founded the winery in 1995, combining family agricultural heritages rooted in Sonoma County.  Tracy’s great-grandparents began farming in the 1920s, and Dutton Ranch was founded in 1964 by Joe’s parents. Today the business farms 1200 acres of vineyards, and Dutton Estate Winery crafts several single vineyard Pinot Noirs from select sites.

Three vineyards will be featured in three side-by-side flights during the event weekend:  La Familia, Manzana Vineyard and Thomas Road Vineyard.  Each flight tells a family winery story.

The land of La Familia was first purchased by Tracy’s family in the 1940s and was their commercial raspberry patch and apple orchard for many years.

“In 1998 my grandmother Carmen Kozlowski had a conversation with my husband Joe and his dad Warren about planting a vineyard.”  Tracy remembers Joe, Warren Dutton and their crew converting the patch to grapevines, she shared.  “Something beautiful began to develop from this vineyard, and that is our La Familia Pinot Noir.”

Also featured during the event weekend is Manzana Vineyard. The land was originally owned by Manzana Products, who sold the land to the family in 1999.  After converting the site to grapevines, the Duttons gave a nod to the region’s apple history and named it Manzana Vineyard.  Today this is the winery’s most cool climate Pinot Noir, to be tasted in one of the event’s side-by-side flights.

Guests can reserve their spot online for the “Comparative Library Pinot Event”.  Multiple seating times are offered daily.  Tickets are $55 and include six wines across three side-by-side flights, presented with paired cheese and charcuterie.  Reservations and information at duttonestate.com.
