Passport-style event aimed at highlighting winegrowing region’s diversity, attracting new audience

LODI, Calif., May 25, 2021 – Lodi producers will kick off the summer season June 12 and 13 with Celebrate Lodi Rosé – a new passport-style event highlighting this exciting and diverse wine category. Flight offerings from 19 wineries will include rosé wines handcrafted from unique, Lodi-grown varieties like Cinsaut, Barbera, Charbono, and others in addition to white, sparkling, and red wines.

The event will feature an exclusive, relaxed feel due to a reservation-only format. At time of ticket purchase, guests will have the opportunity to create a two-day itinerary by pre-booking up to five, 45-minute tasting reservations between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. each day for a total of ten reservations over the weekend. Thirty-minute windows between reservation times will allow for travel to and from locations as well as ample time to purchase your favorite wines.

“Rosé wines are an exciting and interesting wine category. Stylistically, they can vary greatly depending on the type of grape variety or varieties used and winemaking method,” says Stuart Spencer, Executive Director of the Lodi Winegrape Commission. “With more than 100 winegrape varieties growing in Lodi, we’re seeing more experimentation in this category from local winemakers. This event is an invitation to new and returning wine drinkers to explore, learn, and enjoy.”

Two-day tickets to Saturday and Sunday’s Grand Tasting Tours are now on sale and are $25 per person plus tax by advance purchase only at lodiwine.com/events. Tickets are limited to 600 and are expected to sell out. Sales will close at the end of day Sunday, June 6, and will not be available on the days of the event. Tickets to the Grand Tasting Tours include an event wine glass, wine tasting, and admission to pre-selected participating wineries. There is no charge for designated drivers although reservations and tickets are required and may be booked along with reservations and tickets for tasting. All attendees, including designated drivers, must be 21 years of age or older to attend.
