Winery will contribute hundreds of wine barrels to anyone in the  community to be painted and dispersed throughout St. Helena

(St. Helena, CA – March 17, 2021) — HALL Wines, a leading luxury set of wine  brands owned by Craig and Kathryn Hall, is donating wine barrels to be used  throughout the towns of St. Helena and Angwin for a colorful Easter installation,  coined Barrels of Fun, for the second year in a row. The barrels can be ordered and  delivered to businesses and residences around the area to be painted and displayed  to create a community wide easter egg hunt.

“Art is such an integral part of our story,” says Vintner Kathryn Hall. “Last spring,  Easter fell during a time of great uncertainty at the beginning of the pandemic, and  the St. Helena Easter Egg Hunt was the perfect way to add some cheer back into our  community. We are thrilled to be able to donate the barrels and encourage everyone to channel their inner artist by decorating them creatively.”

Last spring, over 200 painted wine barrels transformed the towns of St. Helena into  a cheerful Easter scene. Residents, businesses, and local artists alike displayed  Easter egg style wine barrels in their yards and store fronts, allowing for community  members to drive or walk around the town for a wide-spread Easter egg hunt. The  painted barrels brought a sense of cheer and vibrance to the community in 2020  and will be making a warm-welcomed resurgence in 2021. The HALL Wines barrels  provide a safe and socially distanced way to celebrate Easter around the Northern  Napa Valley.

The barrels were distributed by Tony Montelli and other members of the St. Helena  Odd Fellows Lodge #167. In addition to gaining a creative outlet, barrel recipients  are also encouraged to donate to the Napa Valley Community Foundation to help  alleviate the impact on Covid-19 to local business. In 2020, St. Helena staples such as  Steve’s Hardware and The Paint Works benefited from the increased demand in art  supplies and hope to see a boost in sales again this year.
