Virtual 2021 Sonoma County Barrel Auction Presented by American Agcredit, Registration Open

Auction Begins May 5 with World-Class Never Before, Never Again Auction Lots and for the First Time includes Winery Only and Library Wine Lots

Sonoma County VintnersSANTA ROSA, Calif. (March 10, 2021) – Sonoma County Vintners announces the seventh annual Sonoma County Barrel Auction, presented by American AgCredit, is open for registration. The virtual auction begins on May 5 and, for the first time, will include library wines and exclusive winery-only wines in addition to unique never before, never again auction lots. This auction is an invitation-only program for members of the wine trade, wine collectors and media. Members of the trade who participate have the opportunity to resell wines that showcase the diversity of Sonoma County to their customers and ultra-premium wine collectors.

“We are honored to showcase the extraordinary wines produced by Sonoma County winemakers in the virtual auction this year and thankful for the generous support of our sponsors and vintners,” says Sonoma County Vintners Executive Director Michael Haney. “Each year we are proud to offer an array of varietals that reflect our diverse winegrowing region. This year is truly special as we open the cellars of legendary wineries to offer library and winery only wines.”

The Sonoma County Barrel Auction virtual format provides a one-click bidding process beginning on May 5 that will conclude on May 7, 2021. The one-of-a-kind wines crafted specifically for the auction by beloved, iconic Sonoma County wineries are in five, ten and twenty case lots. Library Wine Collection Lots include previously unobtainable verticals and various bottle size formats. For the first time, trade members have access to limited-release hidden gem wines that are usually direct-to-consumer channel exclusive in varying case quantities.

“American AgCredit is honored to continue its sponsorship of the Sonoma County Barrel Auction. Through this incredible partnership we have seen outstanding collaborations and unique auction lots that define the exceptional winemaking Sonoma County is known for,” says American AgCredit Regional Banking Executive Clay Popko. “We are thrilled about the new auction lot categories for 2021, and we anticipate the library wines from the region to exceed expectations.”

Those who participate will be able to view videos from many winemakers about their auction lots. The 2021 Sonoma County Barrel Auction lots will be announced in late March.
