A.O.C. Announces Friday Night Flights Zoom Series

Caroline Styne Hosts Thematic Wine Tastings to Enjoy at Home

LOLA Winemaker Seth Cripe

WHO:

Caroline Styne, Restaurateur and Wine Directora.o.c., Los Angeles

WHAT:

Much like the winemaker and tasting series the Lucques Group normally hosts at Tavern and the Hollywood Bowl, Caroline Styne of a.o.c and David Wiater from Grapevine Wine Company are teaming to host a series of winemaker evenings and thematic wine tastings. Hosted through Zoom, Friday Night Flights recreate the experience of being one-on-one with a winemaker, where one can enjoy a group tasting through a flight of spectacular wines. The first in the series is scheduled for Friday, February 12, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.

Since it may still be awhile before we can sit at a favorite bar or restaurant and talk to the bartender or sommelier about what new and exciting wines they have on hand, Caroline and David are enthusiastic about the opportunity to re-create that experience at home.

“We all are missing that experience of dining out and being among people. For a sommelier, not being able to interact with people and introduce guests to new wines is pretty disappointing because we truly thrive on that interaction and the positive reinforcement that comes from matching someone with a wine that they love,” states Caroline Styne.

Guests receive a flight of wines in 5-ounce tasting bottles and are given access to the Zoom meeting portal to taste through each wine with Caroline and David.  All participants learn about the winery and its history and have access to fun and knowledgeable wine professionals.  The format will mimic a wine tasting group atmosphere to make the entire experience a communal one. Caroline will also recommend selections from the a.o.c. menu that pair with the wines so guests can order food to go along with the flights.

The first in the series will feature LOLA wines by winemaker Seth Cripe. The wine flight, priced at $45, can be ordered online at TOCK, and orders are picked up from a.o.c. or can be delivered.

ABOUT LOLA WINES:

Established in 2008 by winemaker and owner Seth Cripe, LOLA is a Napa Valley-based boutique winery focused on creating high quality, approachable and affordable wines. Their winemaking approach pays tribute to the old-world tradition with carefully selected vineyards and handcrafted wines made in small batches. For us, growing grapes and making wine is about connecting with nature, working alongside the ever-changing elements, year to year, to make wines that represent their true sense of place.  LOLA’s portfolio of wines consists of their estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, California Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Rose – all part of a classic collection, mostly sourced from Sonoma County. They also produce the LOLA artisanal series of wines, a collection of wines focused on purity and uncompromised integrity from distinct vineyards mostly located in Napa Valley. Today, LOLA produces about 20,000 cases of wines distributed in 36 United States and exported to various Asian countries and Northern Europe. They also operate a tasting room, The Lola House, in downtown Calistoga, Napa Valley. LOLA is committed to producing wines in a purely and naturally. Their vineyards are farmed and cared for with their surrounding nature and ecological health kept in mind. LOLA stands for quality, authenticity and value in all of the wines produced.
