St. Helena, CA, January 7, 2021 – Sans Wine Co. recently announced the release of their 750mL bottled version of Carignan, the first bottled option from the organic canned wine company. Now, the new Carignan bottles, in addition to being available in select independent retailers and wine shops, will also be available in Whole Foods Market stores across the nation.

Between January 6 and March 2, 2021, Whole Foods Market shoppers will be able purchase Sans Wine Co.’s bottled Carignan. Sans Wine Co. is being highlighted for their commitment to natural winemaking (nothing added, nothing removed) and for making wines from organically farmed vineyards. Select Whole Foods Market stores across the country also carry Sans’ Wine Co.’s canned wine options.

“Our customers have come to know and love Sans Wine Co’s canned wine at our stores, so we are thrilled to offer their new 2020 Carignan in our stores as well,” said Katie Wallace, Senior Category Merchant at Whole Foods Market. “With domestic Carignan wines trending and Sans Wine Co. being a trusted wine maker in the natural wine space, we knew this was the perfect opportunity to roll out our first nationally available domestic Carignan to our customers.”

“Sans Wine Co. is thrilled to be launching our 2020 Carignan in Whole Foods Market stores at the beginning of 2021,” says co-founder Gina Schober. “It is an honor and we also feel that it is a testament to the wine buying team’s dedication to providing their customers with unique, natural, and high-quality products. We are looking forward to sharing our wines with new customers in a “fresh” (to us!) format. What a great way to start the New Year!”

Sans Wine Co.’s Carignan (12.5% ABV) is made from 100% Carignan from old vine, dry farmed, organic vineyards in the Mendocino AVA of Northern California. The grapes were harvested, cluster sorted and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, undergoing a carbonic fermentation with no manipulation, and no additions. Sans Wine Co.’s Carignan features aromas of plum, Provençal herbs, violet and rhubarb, with flavors of juicy raspberries, cranberries, blueberries, and notes of cinnamon. With smooth tannins and a dry finish, this wine should be chilled before drinking.
