Tolosa’s flagship Pinot Noir shows the full potential of the Edna Valley terroir.

November 10, 2020 (San Luis Obispo, Calif.)  Tolosa winery, esteemed producer of Pinot Noir in Edna Valley, announced the release of its highly anticipated Primera 2019. The limited-production estate Pinot Noir is crafted using the very best barrels of each vintage, and 2019 was an exceptional vintage.  “Primera is our statement that Edna Valley terroir is capable of reaching a level of quality rivaling the very best Pinot Noirs of the world.  Our winemaker made that statement loud and clear with the 2019 vintage,”  said Vintner Robin Baggett.

Tolosa’s estate vineyard, Edna Ranch, located a mere 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean, benefits from the cooling influences of daily fog and prevailing winds that funnel into the transverse valley from Morro Bay. The ancient seabed, rich in calcium sediments, imparts a distinctive minerality and sense of place. “Our flagship, Primera, demonstrates the full potential that makes Pinot Noir one of the most coveted grapes in the world.  The 2019 vintage offers power, layers and length, with a seamless silky texture from start to finish,” said Winemaker Frederic Delivert.

Tolosa will be celebrating the release of Primera 2019 the entire month of November. All guests will experience Primera 2019, as Tolosa will be including a complimentary splash of Primera with the traditional 1772 Wine Flight. In addition, Tolosa will be debuting a Primera Tasting Experience for Primera Tolosa members to showcase the newly released flagship Pinot Noir and library Single Vineyard wines accompanied by an artisan cheese plate curated specifically to pair with Primera. Tolosa will be collaborating with SLO Brew Rock to livestream virtual concerts of local talent. The livestream music will be enjoyed each Sunday by Primera Tolosa members on the Terrace as well as featured on Tolosa’s social media channels. The local talent includes Bear Market Riot, Dante March, Brass Mash, and Proxima Parada.

Primera 2019 Tasting Experiences, available exclusively to Primera Tolosa Members, will debut Sunday, November 8, 11AM and continue each Sunday throughout the month of November.
