Celebrate California Wine Month in Livermore Valley

Many wineries are open for outdoor tasting, reservations recommended

Livermore Valley, Calif. (September 3, 2020)—Livermore Valley is one of California’s oldest and most accessible wine countries—a perfect place for Bay Area residents to celebrate California Wine Month this month. In accordance with state and county guidelines, many of the 50 wineries in this historic region are open for outdoor wine tasting starting Labor Day Weekend. Advance reservations for tasting are recommended and winery details are available at LVwine.org

“Harvest is underway and it’s a great time to experience your local wine country by visiting us in person or joining a virtual tasting,” said Chris Chandler, executive director of the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association. “You will discover a wide variety of award-winning wines made by boutique producers and industry leaders.”

In honor of California Wine Month, Livermore Valley Wine Country is highlighting “perfect pairings” within the valley.   • International Bacon & Cabernet Pairing Experience: Las Positas Vineyards will celebrate Labor Day Weekend with its version of a fantasy BLT slider paired with a flight of wines. $30 per person. Reservations required at laspositasvineyards.com
  • Harvest Special Zoom: The Wood Family Vineyards team will discuss the 2020 harvest while tasting three wines: Grenache, Woody’s Cab and Big Wood Zin. Free to attend on Zoom. Find details at woodfamilyvineyards.com
  • BYOB: In a safe version of its popular Bring Your Own Bottle tradition, Page Mill Winery is offering three BYOB wines in new glass bottles for pick-up on September 20.
