Gorgeous foothills wine region open for boutique,  spacious outdoor wine tasting experiences

Le Mulet Rouge Tasting al FrescoSutter Creek, California, 1 September 2020 – The Wine on 49 tasting rooms of historic Sutter Creek are open for business.  Wineries belonging to the Wine on 49 group are welcoming guests back to the region to enjoy award winning wines in a fun, intimate, and safe way.  During the past few months of “shelter in place” orders, the wineries have been trying new business propositions to promote their wines, including offering on-line specials, purchase and pick up hours, and virtual tasting with winemakers.  With the Governor’s recent COVID-19 pandemic order that allows tasting rooms to open for outside tasting experiences, the wineries of Wine on 49 have gotten creative and reimagined wine tasting experiences that are interesting, unique and educational with newly expanded outside seating.

Proper hygiene and sanitation has always been followed in the tasting rooms, but additional COVID 19 protocols have been implemented to go above and beyond simple compliance. The tasting rooms have gone above and beyond, considering the comfort of the guest and improving the experience each step of the way.

“When our guests are visiting at one of our 8 member tasting rooms, people enjoy the bucolic and quaint charm of a small historic foothills town all while tasting amazing, award-winning wines,” said Kelsey Mort, Wine on 49 President. “Our wineries have gone above and beyond to develop safe experiences for tasting, but even more so have set-up relaxing and spacious tasting experiences on patios with scenic Main Street views  and  creating garden wine tasting  oases.  There is just so much to explore, and Sutter Creek is the perfect escape to get away and enjoy a wonderful day tasting beautiful wines.”

Winery tasting rooms are open, but reservations are required to ensure proper social distancing and the best, safest experience possible. Wineries continue to offer online sales, phone orders and curbside pick up as a means of ensuring wine lovers have the chance to drink and enjoy award-winning wines from the historic region.
