Crucial Testing Program Provides Proactive Approach to Protect Workforce During the 2020
SANTA ROSA, California – September 1, 2020 – To address a critical need, Sonoma County Vintners/Foundation has partnered with American AgCredit to provide a dedicated Sonoma County workforce active COVID-19 testing program for Sonoma County wineries. As part of this partnership, Sonoma County Vintners Foundation and American AgCredit will subsidize a portion of testing costs in order to assist association winery members and make this program as approachable as possible to those needing tests. The drive-thru testing site provided by TotalWellness, is located in at the Sonoma County Vintners offices in Northern Santa Rosa. Testing is available once a week through October 22 by prior appointment.
“We are incredibly proud to offer this service to our wine community during their very busy harvest season,” says Sonoma County Vintners/Foundation Executive Director Michael Haney. “As advocates for our wine community, we are always seeking ways we can alleviate any challenges for our members, and we are grateful for American AgCredit’s constant support of our community.”
The Sonoma County Vintners/Foundation COVID-19 testing program can be utilized as a proactive approach to protect staff and to discover potential outbreaks before a spread to an entire winery or vineyard workforce occurs. The testing site is open every Thursday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. through October 22 and located in the American AgCredit Parking Lot at 400 Aviation Blvd. in Santa Rosa. Members of Sonoma County Vintners receive special pricing at $120 per test and non-members can purchase tests for $135 per test.
“Our job at American AgCredit it to remain a steadfast partner for farmers and ranchers, particularly as this county enters grape harvest,” says Clay Popko, American AgCredit Regional Banking Executive. “Supporting a testing program helps us all work toward a better tomorrow.”
In order to participate, wineries must register for the testing program through the Sonoma County Vintners/Foundation. Participants will complete an online appointment reservation.
